A few useful answers.
What counts as a lightweight tool?
Think of a company website, client intake form, sales tracker, calculator, or small team dashboard. It serves pages, saves ordinary business records, and does a little work when someone uses it. A static website counts as one tool, too.
Your organization can have up to five tools, including stopped tools. Together they share 512 MB of app memory and half a CPU core. Each tool includes 1 GB for its database and saved files. There is no fixed visitor allowance: what your app does matters more than how many people have access.
What needs a larger plan?
Large datasets, video processing, hosting AI models, frequent heavy imports, or software that works hard continuously. An app that calls an external AI service can still fit; you pay that provider separately. Your agent can check usage and help you fit within the plan.
What happens if a tool grows too large?
There is no automatic upgrade or surprise capacity charge. CPU work slows at the shared limit. Running out of memory can stop or restart an app. Full storage refuses new writes and pauses the affected tool; existing data is kept. Your account shows usage, and storage warnings arrive before it fills. Ask your agent to reduce usage or contact us for more capacity.
Do the people I invite need an AI agent?
No. Viewers and editors open the app in their browser and sign in. Developers use their own connected agent to change the software.
What does Admin access allow?
Admin access gives a trusted developer full control of a tool, including its source, secrets, sharing, and deletion. Give editors access when they only need to work with the app’s data.
How is my data protected?
Boat House provides HTTPS, app access controls, separate app databases, and nightly backups on the hosted service. Read our security page for the current controls and limitations before deciding what data to store.
Can I move an existing app over?
Yes. Give your agent the app’s source and ask it to deploy to Boat House. Your agent may need to adapt the app and migrate its data. The documentation explains the supported deployment format.
